Default Overheating after radiator and thermastat replacement

I replaced my stock radiator and thermostat housing and I took it up to trail this weekend. About 5000 ft it started to get a little hot . I pulled over and found on my passenger side fluid spray all inside my fender liner and opened the hood. It looks as though it is leaking from the top of the passenger side . I got back sprayed it all clean and went for a test drive to see where it might be coming from but see no signs of further leaking it is getting a tad bit over half way on the temp gauge. My question is what else would cause the rig to run hot after a complete flush and replacement of radiator and thermostat?

where on the passenger side? Could have come from the cap if it overheated.

Did you replace the cap? Did you burp the system after install?

Yes I did get a new cap with the new radiator. It is a mishimoto all aluminim radiator. Also I do beleive the fan is operating normally it comes on . I think I burped the system properly. It appeared that the radiator fluid was hitting my air box from the passenger side. and running back from there. I just cant see after cleaniong the area all off where the leak might have came from. Could it be possible that I over filled it from the start? At first I thought it might be from the power steering resi. Cause the fluid stains looked oily . But that surely would cause it to continue to get too hot would it? Any help would be greatly appreciated . Thank you guys for the responses so far.

My mishimoto radiator did come witha new cap . If I accidentally filled it with too much antifreeze could it have blown the cap seal you think?

I got a new cap with the radiator and I left it running while squeezing both intake tube and the hose going into the engine . Would that be adequate burping of the system? Oh and I ran the heater on high while doing that.

The fan is coming on at a high speed rate when it starts to get hot. I would assume its working properly.

Did you put the right fluid in? Jeeps use a special fluid for certain years.
I know it sounds like a stupid question, but from 07 to 11 used one kind and 12 and up use a different kind.

On the 3.8 the overflow hose connects to the rad on the passenger side. Is the overflow hose connected, split or not clamped properly??
