Default Paint new alloy wheels?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and this beholder wants a set of AEV Bridgers in Argent. Unfortunately they can't be had! Anywhere!!

But I did find a set in silver so it occurs to me that I could get them painted. Have a real good autobody guy who has worked on various vehicles for years and has done "a few new wheels".

Anybody know of any drawbacks?

The tire wheel deal would be 3K by the time they're installed so I don't want to end up with a big headache.

Thanks to anyone responding.

why dont you just get them powder coated. It will last alot longer and probally end up being cheaper. I paid 440 for my wheels to be stripped and powder coated. Looki into it mine look sweet!!!

I went the painting route on my stock sahara rims. I thought about powdercoating, but you can't touch that up when it gets messed up like you can with paint. I did the work myself though, and they're not super expensive wheels like you're getting...

Hey guys, thanks for the suggestion! I ordered silver Bridgers today from the big Q after I checked with the powder coater down the road. It will cost me $64/wheel to sand blast then coat.

New problem! What color do I choose??? The powder coater had a s... load of color chips and like picking perfume for the wife, after looking at a couple they all looked the same...and different...but the same somehow....oh cr..!!!!

This is starting to b FUN!
