Default Paint or powder coat?

I need some input on doing my wheel rings. I can get them painted for $150 or powder coated for $180. Not much of a difference in price, I know powder coats stronger but paint is cheaper to get touched up. Any comments? I am having them done the same color as my jeep Dune.

Do you wheel your jeep? Wouldn't waste the money if you do.

I haven't yet. but I do plan on a little this summer. I think I will go to the Outer banks more than the hills. 3-4 hour drive to wheel and 1.5 hours to the beach. Dont get me wrong I will do some wheeling but I don't plan on beating my jeep up.

Honestly I wouldn't waste the money painting the rings.

I don't beat my Jeep up either but this happens every time:

If I were you I'd look into just painting them with some tan camouflage color spray paint or tan camo Plasti Dip. Krylon has a camo series of spray paint usually found at Lowes.

I paint-pen my wheels after every "incident". It happens a lot...

Powder coat is paint. Just a different process without the solvents to make it a liquid to apply. Less hazardous wastes to dispose of...Less people that know what they're doing and often done in less than perfect shops. Throw money at it and I guess it's better

Buy a Mopar paint matched rattle can or equivalent and paint them yourself
