Default Paint Rock Rails

So I chipped the paint off my stock rock rails and want to paint them to get my blacked out look back. I'm not sure what paint to use for this job. Any suggestions? Please and thanks !

Sand them a bit and hit them with some bed liner.

What about something smoother? Don't want to tear up skin if I rub on the rail getting off

I just use whatever cheap black paint I can find. I have to do it often enough because of rock rash that higher quality paint isn't really of any benefit. If I lived where they salt the roads I would probably be more concerned.

What would you use for salted roads? I live in Wisconsin and salt is always on the road when it snows, I swear.

I like the cheaper black tractor enamel they carry at tractor supply. I used it on my diesel and it holds up good enough for me.

Rustoleum truck bed liner... if your skin is soft enough to get torn up by rubbing on this you have other issues and should seek the help of a dermatologist.

I would probably use POR or Rustoleum.

I used Rustoleuum black. Color was a perfect match for my rubi-rails. I'll look at the can and see if theres anything special about the paint.

I use Flat black Textured Rustoleum. Metalcloak recommends people to use it on their bumpers to fix rock rash. It looks exactly like powder coat. My rock rails were used and a little beat up when I first got them so I used this paint. They came out pretty good.
