I like it! My only concern is how well it holds up, but I guess you could always just repaint.

I knew a guy who did some parts of dash in his TJ with the red textured paint which looked really cool. Thought about doing something like that to mine, just haven't decided what color would look good with Steel Blue,

Mine's been painted for 5 months now. Still looks great, no flaking, smearing or fading. As for why? It makes the frame around the windshield look more like one piece if the outside and inside are the same color. Of course, if you don't care about your Jeep you can just leave it as is...

One thing I have seen a lot of other people do when they want to ensure that the painted interior parts remain painted is the following:

1. Use scotchbrite pad or something mildly abrasive to scuff up the part
2. Clean the part with acetone to ensure all oils and grease are gone.
3. Use a good quality primer before the color coat.

I have seen numerous examples of where this was not done, and eventually they all started chipping, cracking, etc...

I'm in the process of painting some of the interior. I did the vent rings. I'm also doing the upper dash panel and my switch panel. Both of those are from Daystar and its been bugging me that they don't match the rest of the plastic. Why am I doing it? For fun. Plus, if i have too much time on my hands, I usually get myself in trouble.
