I was thinking of experimenting and painting mean to accent the Jeep... could always paint them back to black.

The factory powdercoating is pretty durable on them. You could always bedline or plastidip them, but unless they are chipped up, I would rather have the powdercoat.

How thick are they. I want to weld custom rails to them.

Poison Spyder rico rails does, no reason you can't do the same

Interesting idea. I don't think I've ever seen it done, but I'd love to see some pics if you decide to try it out!
