Default Painted Shocks

Is it possible to spray paint a Jeep's shocks with some rustoleum or some heavy duty paint without it rubbing off? If so, would it be easy to cover the shocks with paint without any uncovered areas being effected by overspray or would I need to take to shocks off?

Is there any easy way to remove them or would that take some skill and time?

Yup, remove the 2 bolts on each shock, Done the front top bolts can be a pain, but certainly no special skill required

i took my Bilstein 5100's off and painted them to match my Jeep once the finish on them started to corrode and look like ass!......look great now....Bilstein actually sent me replacement decals to put on them but i kinda like them the way they are.

Those turned out pretty good, with the decals they would look factory again.
