Default Painting Sahara Wheels

I know a few people have blacked out Sahara wheels. I was wondering what it would look like if the rim was left silver and the five star painted black.

Has anyone done this?

Lame, kind of looks like you have black ginger bread men on your rims...

I'd black it ALL out if I were going to have to do a proper prep job anyway, etc.

1. I don't like it. Take that for what it is worth... nothing.
2. If you are in the market for new wheels and can't afford it right know and want to try it... then go for it.
3. The paint will probably not hold up too well to the elements.
4. If they really end up looking bad to you...then
5. They are after all stock wheels and you can find originals for very little money or free pretty easy.
6. This is a good way to get those new wheels when you have tried to save money and it just isn't working. Christmas for the Jeep!!!!!

I think they look pretty good. The rock rash on the edges woudn't show up as bad with the silver rim.

Default not that bad

i kinda like it.... I could see getting a pair of polished aluminium for the summer here in the snow belt and doing that to the stockers for the winter to save your polished wheels.... my jk is ordered.... i drive an Xterra i had the stock steelies startign to rust around the lugs... i had a local sandblasting shop completely blast and "1-part" epoxy black (not sure if its a true epoxy) and they still look like brand new after 2 winters and for stock steels , painting them black and some BFG AT's and it looks great. just me .02

It's different. I'm not sure whether or not I like it, but no matter, it's your Jeep. Good thing about painting them like that is, you could always sand them back down and have them recleared if you decided that you don't like it. I'd say if you like it, go for it.
