Default Painting Undercarriage Question

Hey troops, I am thinking about painting my undercarriage to protect it. I want to protect the axles and other gear as best I can. So, what's the best product to do this? I'm thinking Rustolium but it says it's a rubber coating. I have seen some people on the forum paint the undercoat and it wasn't rubberized. What do you all think? I'm not even going to ask if it might void my warranty, from what I've read that's like asking what flavor ice cream is the best. There's always a different answer...

Thanks for the help!

Don't do the ruberizing rustoleom. I used that after I did my gussets, and when they say ruberizing, they mean chunky

I'd do the rustoleom bed liner. I used that on my Rubi rails and the texture is amazing, the stuff is stronger than nails, and best of all, it inhibits rust

hey jwhotehorn, got any pics? I am considering doing the same as with the under carriage of mine. Also, just curious on how you prepped the surface?

Thanks!

Thanks bro, I think that's what I'm going with. Hey, I've decided to get a CB so next time we link up at SMORR we don't have to get out every 10 minutes. Hope all is well on your side.

All is well I hope you and your family are going good too.

Hopefully when the weather improves we can hit SMORR again, I had a blast

For those who asked, here is a picture of my gussets painted with the "ruberizing" rustoleum undercoating.

It's hard to tell from the poor cell phone photo, but the lumpyness of the gussets is 90% that rustoleum, only 10% (I would guess) is actually the weld. In person it looks poorer, but it gets the job done.

I thank you are right to forgo the ruberizing undercoating and just going with bedliner.
