Default Pcv valve removal help!!!

My JK is 2008 Sahara with 72k on it. Have never changed the PCV Valve out. Began this process today. My issue is that I can't get it out. I have watched the videos posted on Youtube and read my book. I moved the coil pack out of the way so I could pull straight up on the PCV valve. I have been unable to get it out. It will spin in the upper plastic housing, I can move it back and forth, (broke a small piece of the upper outter plastic housing off doing this). Short of clamping a vice grip to it, what else can I try?? Not really wanting to break the upper plastic housing any more.
Any assistance is welcomed.
Thx

Clamp a vice grip to it put a screwdriver through the vice grips when it's clamped them push up on the screwdriver. Not pretty but it works.
