Default Performance/driveability mods

So I have decided to use my tax return to give the jeep a little extra "umph" that it so badly needs. I'm gonna do gears (5.13's) to compensate for the 33" tires, superchips tuner, and an AEM cold air kit. I figure this should get the jeep to a "road trip friendly" point. So my question is, are there any other mods that anyone can think of that may compliment the above listed mods that I should consider?

Run a quick search for the tire and gear ratio chart. I'm on mobile or I would do it for you. However 513s with 33s are going to be a wicked low gear ratio. I cannot speak from personal experience however from what I have read the highway characteristics will be terrible with that particular ratio. ill post the chart when I get to my lap top. What year is your rig? And auto or standard?

5.13's are way to low of a gear ratio for 33's if you have a 6 speed. But you mite be ok with the Auto.

5.13s are definitely steep for a 6 speed with 33s but with an automatic I would say aggressive and not over the top.

I have 5.38's on 33.75" tires (35" KM2's) and it drives like a champ but I also drive over hills and mountains all the time. Really just depends on what tranny you have and how you like to drive your rig. I have an auto and get 14.5 mpgs in town.

Sorry fellas, I forgot to add a couple of key pieces of info. It's a 2008 rubicon 2 door with auto trans. I looked at the gear chart on here, and 5:13's with the auto are on the aggressive side, but not overkill.

But please do let me know, if you have re-geared and have an auto, how you like it and if you're happy with your choice of gear ratio.

So, that being said, besides the gearing topic, what else besides cold air intake and tuner, does everyone run to get a little more power where it counts?

From reading it seems like 4.56 is the preferred with 33's (been wondering myself). I am also wondering what kind of shop does this work, and what is the usual labor cost?

4.56s are going to be on the light side for 33s with an automatic unless your daily romps are on flatter terrain and at lower highway speeds.

I have 5.38's with 33's and auto, love it! My first gear change was 4.88's just wasn't enough gear. Read my other post I explain my goals and rationale for going to 5.38's with the auto. But if ya have the d30 front axle 5.13's would be sufficient. Love the super-chips with the adv trans tune. It will make ur Jku auto drive able with the 33's
