Question PIAA install?

Anyone have any experience installing PIAA or other aftermarket fogs? I just ordered some 520's and the shop guy said it takes 4 hours to do it clean. Needless to say, I'm not in the mood to spend another $260 or so in labor if its something I could do myself. For background, I've already installed an LoD front w/winch, that was pretty straightforward.

I searched for a write-up, but had no love there, figured I might ask around in case the instructions (if any) suck as bad as Warn's did.

Thanks

when you get them in and look at what is included and how well the directions are then bring back this post.
Those 2 things will decide how much help or what you need.

I did something somewhat similiar that took me ~4 hours to do right.
I installed a light bar and KC SlimLite driving lights on a stock bumper. I had to drill(and ream) the bumper for the bar mount and ended up cutting holes in the bumper for the wiring also. I also had to drill the dash panel for the light switch.
My KC's came with the wiring harness and relay, so it was just a matter of finding a nice route for the wiring, and packaging it up with tie-wraps and black conduit. I had to go thru the firewall to run the wiring to the switch.
If you have factory fogs and re-use the fog-switch on the stem, you won't have to mess with the switch and running wire thru the firewall, but you will have to add a relay.

I only took me 2 hours and it looks like it was done professionally. I ran the wires thru the antenna input and that took about 40 minutes

i would say mine took me about 2 hours and i took my time to run the wires hide everything zip tie everything protect the wires from metal edges, aiming them and staring in awe

4 hours is way off especially if you are a mechanic, i would say its 2 hours for a backyard mechanic, and about 1 hour for a pro, who has all the tools and the experience of doing this before millions of times

A good brother in law would have brought a case of beer upstairs.
I know it is not fog lights, but my whole CB install took me 1.5 hours, and the dual whips are set up on the windshield base light mounts. All of the wires are ran through the clutch hole in the firewall (auto). I had to remove the thing under the windshield (not dash, it was outside by the hood and I think its the cowl), and I also ran power and my PA speaker, and a lead for my extension speaker. Still trying to find time to make a secure dash mount for the unit. All of that was done alone in my driveway with hand tools.

It took me about 2 hours. I used wire loom on all the wires, tie wrapped neatly and ran wires just next to all the other hrnesses in the engine compartment.

BTW, I lost my switch working at night and do not want to wait for a new one. How the heck do you use an aftermarket lighted switch???? I don't seem to be able to get it to work.

Wal-Mart has the exact switch I used in installing my windshield KC's. I believe they even have the tip-lit fighter pilot throw switches with safety covers.
