Yeah they don't eliminate all the mud...but I would say they do eliminate about 90%. But if I have to clean the mud anyway, then I go without.

they keep my door handles clean. with stock tires they would keep all most all the mud off. This was the second or third day in Moab after some heavy rain. Top of the world was muddy in places. They are tough as nails and I have had them flattened completely against the rear bumper and front of the rock rails and they look like new.

Had them on mine and ended up taking them off. Looks way better without them, in my opinion.
