Pilot bearing failures
IN the last two months I have had to pull trans on my jeep twice both times throw out failure .... But the second time the pilot bearing failed. Then the through out failed.
Has any one had similar issues or is there a better bearing...... Or has any one tried to use a bushing.
Here is a pic of a new bearing like the one that failed..... And the jeep house mechanic said he thought that the mopar bearing had a seal this one does not and I the other has not come in yet.
Thanks for any thoughts or solutions .

Your problem isn't very clear. You say that the throwout bearing failed twice, but the second time that your pilot bearing failed. Did you change the pilot bearing the first time? How did you determine the second time that your pilot bearing failed? FYI, my throwout bearing failed at about 95K miles. Replaced it and the pilot bearing and am at 125K miles now. OEM parts.
Ok got a Timken bearing # SCE1259 this has a grease seal inside ..... The clutch kit came with a Chinese bearing looks the same but no seal ....I didn't realize this till after pilot bearing failed .... $12 bucks at parts store $18 at the stealership ...
I will try to let you know how it goes

I thought they included the pilot bearing in their kits? I do know center force makes their own throw out bearing you can buy separtly
Im also running a centerforce clutch, seems to be a great clutch so far! My mopar TOB failed at 28k miles (my fault, took the jeep swimming
) however I replaced my TOB and pilot bearing with Moog (National) parts. I have put about 7k miles on it since then with no issues.

That's good news. They didn't when I bought mine. I searched and searched and couldn't find anything but OEM. Good also to hear about Moog (National).
