Default Pinch seam trim question

trimmed back the pinch seam in front of the rear tires to clear the new 35's. Is there anything dangeroous about doing that? I know its too late now.

Good idea. I actually cut one a little more and hit the styrofoam stuff inside. I dont want water getting in there.

Painkiller how do you like your 5:13's with the 35's. I need to regear with my auto trans and 35's. I am undecided between 4:88's and 5:13's. I do alot of freeway driving and am afraid of killing my mpg.

I love them...I mean it isn't speedracer but it has a lot of get up and go. after the 35's and lift it was a dog. I get better MPG since it isn't constantly kicking in and out of OD while trying to do the speed limit on the highway. It was well worth it to me, I know a few have used the programer from aev and they say they are getting great milage because they can set it up for what they are running ( gears, tire size etc.)

also depends on the terrain in your area and if you ever want to go with 37's it will handle it with no problem.

Thanks. We got lots of hills here in AZ and i hate all the downshifting. Not sure the 4:88's would hold the speed.

An extra 100rpm doesn't kill your mileage. Constantly downshifting and jumping in and out of OD is what kills it. That little extra bit of rpm gives that little extra bit of HP, which keeps you in OD longer, which, from quite a few other threads, actually improves mpg's - especially if you live somewhere with altitude or lots of hills/overpasses.

I am a bit biased, though. Can't remember the last time I drove a flat freeway where I could actually hold speed and cruise without downshifts.
