Default Places to put 35" spare

Just got my 35"s and can't afford a tire carrier right now. Does anyone have a different option. Like a cheap mount on the inside

You can temporarily mount it on the stock carrier if it will fit. However, I would not keep it there permanently. How about the cargo area, secured by tie-downs?

I have the same issue... Got 35's about a month ago and now waiting for my bumper/carrier to arrive. In the meantime I just put the spare flat in the cargo area (2dr - rear seat removed) and strapped it down using the rear seat mounts. It's not pretty but it works and it beats driving without a spare.

P.S. I realize it can be carried on the stock carrier, however mine rattled everytime I went over a bump... Can't be good for the tailgate and drove me nuts!

I just laid it down in the cargo area in my 4-door until my bumper cam in. It doesn't go anywhere.

I got the smittybuilt carrier to use until
I figured out which carrier/bumper I wanted
It was about $120 works great

Otherwise lay it down in the cargo area and strap it down

You may actually luck out with your spare like I did, depending on which tire you go with. I have the ProComp Xterrains that measure 315/75/r16. My spare fits on my stock tire carrier and actually rests on my stock back bumper. It doesn't wiggle or bounce at all and I've had it like this for a year now. I've been on numerous trails and it's my DD and I can't see my tailgate failing at all because of the weight of the tire. If you want a picture, I can run out and snap one for you.

I've been putting off getting a rear bumper/tire carrier because of how expensive they are.

After my 35 started to loosen a few tail gate spot welds I moved it to the back seat area in my 2 door.

I have it upright along the driver side with the tread up against the driver seat - just fits peferectly. I ran a good size ratchet strap - no hooks, just strap doubled - through the wheel around the rear roll bar. It does not move at all - I also have a second racket strap holding the front part of the tire snug against the side. It is very solid.

The gas tank in on the right and the tire on the left - it feels well balanced. I an very pleased and do not plan on the weight or expense of a rear bumper tire carrier. And I still have plenty of rear cargo area!
