Just curious here, has anyone here actually seen a home made airtank go south? Not just heard it from sombody's friends cousin? It's not pretty and very dangerous. Nothing like seeing shrapnel fly across the shop. I've seen it in person. Pipe bumpers, fine, usually made from SCH 40, they just split when they go. Use the wrong material, stress it beyond it's intended design....you get the idea. I'm just trying to help out here and keep everyone and everything intact.

I'm going with an air tank also and try to relocate the vapor canister up under there and out of the way.

If it is attached to the vehicle, all it will do is spiil air. It isn't like a tnak sitting around the garage.

Yeah relocating it wouldn't be a bad idea, i was gonna make a cage or skid plate for it...or rather for the new one as mine is in the shop since i ripped the last one clear off and managed to suck dirt in my gas tank as a result...worst spot ever for it!!!

I made a muffler skid plate out of 1/4" plate steel.

OK, whatever you say. Do the words embrittlement or reduced ductility mean anything to you? That's where the small fast moving sharp pieces come into play.

Oh, and the Titanic will never sink...

We agree to disagree.
