Default Plasti-dip help

Hey guys. first time to use this and I don't think it's going to turn out well. I am trying to see if I like the outer rim of my wheels black.. So I dipped them. Just the outer edge requiring a lot of taping. How should I go about taking the tape off so I don't mess up the dip? Also.. If I do my whole wheels and don't like them will the be easy to return back to normal?

Just be careful taking the tape off, also if you dont like them plasti dip peels off easy once you get it started. good luck! post an after pic of the one you have done!

I love plastidip but I've had very low success with trying to get a clean edge with tape. I must be doing something wrong.

I've found to get a clean edge using plasti dip is to peal the masking tape off almost immediately after your final coat. In other words when it is still well. The dip sticks to the tape and causes a mess.

Really had to worry about a clean edge on my hood decal. I could try and get a better picture

That looks great!!
for future reference... If you take the wheels off the Jeep you don't have to mask anything off. The plasti-dip peels right off the tires with ease

When I use plasti-dip (or any rubberized paint) with masking tape, you'll want to use an xacto blade around the edge of the tape before you peel it off.

Tape, then spray, then cut around the edge, then remove tape.

You don't need to use much blade pressure at all...use sharp blades.

Good luck!
