I have been reading as much as I can to keep from having to bother people on this forum, but I'm still having trouble uderstanding how these lift kits are put together.

I read on here that for a three inch lift you need the following to avoid issues: springs, shocks, front adjustable tracbar, rear tracbar bracket, break lines, quick disconnects, rear drop links, bump stops and front upper and lower adjustable control arms.

So my question is, why doesn't 3" kits come with the front tracbar, upper/ lower adjustable control arms, or steering stabilizer? If these parts are needed and it's common knowledge why aren't they included? Thanks in advance for all replys. Anyone that has a smart a$$ comment, please keep it to yourself. I'm just trying to learn without wasting money doing things twice.

a lot of kits don't come with these parts because technically, you can make things work without them and, it allows manufacturers to sell a more affordable kit. the extra components like an adjustable front track bar and/or adjustable front lower control arms just make it possible to dial in your suspension geometry and that improves the handling of your jeep. and, where you will feel the benefits of these extra components most is ON PAVEMENT. this is why so many of us recommend them. does this make sense?

Well the truth is the higher in lift that you go, the more stuff your gonna need to make your jeep work properly still. everyone has a different opinon on lift height and what you need, and I am no expert by anymeans. The reason that most kits dont all come with theses parts is cost. They want to make a kit that is as economical as possible. With a 3 inch lift I would recommend a kit that comes with new springs, bump stops, brake like extension brackets ( or new longer brake lines), front and rear trackbar brackets, and new shocks. But once again it is all what you want to spend. You can go top dollar and get all new track bars and controls arms and that will really optimize performance. Hope this helps.
