Why would it always stay on? You bolt it on in the winter and unbolt it in the summer.

Sure you could unbolt it in the summer but why? 15+ bolts? On a boss there is just no real reason to take it off in the summer.
And you have to take the front bummper off on most trucks.

MY point is its not easy to just "unbolt it" its more work than its worth.
Build a trail truck or a snowplow truck

I mounted a fisher homesteader on an 08 Ford Ranger with the offroad package which sits a little higher than stock... the truck is lifted 3" besides. And running 33x12.50's The plow works fine with no modification and still has at least 5-6" of downtravel. You should be able to use one of those systems no problem with your lift. Again, the plow is real light and won't put all that wear and tear from a steel plow. Just don't hit the frozen piles too hard... LOL. I'm trying to find a used one right now for mine. Too cheap to throw for a new one to plow a couple of driveways. The only pain is taking off the two frame mounted brackets in the spring. If you do consider this. I would recomend getting a fish stick controler as well. You can simply unplug the hand held control once your done plowing. No big silly box bolted to the dash.

Ohh... by the way. Fisher uses two indepent brackets attached to the frame. 4 to 5 bolts each depending on application. 10 min. dissasemble/ reassemble. I take mine off my big trucks all the time. Boss/ Myers/ and some others have big, bulky things that are a little more complicated to take apart and hand lower from the frame

That would be the red version of the fisher homesteader. Everything on it is the same as Fisher. Just a different color blade. If you ever need parts you can get them from either dealer Fisher or Western. We've been putting those on tons of Jeeps lately. The old TJ's some guys are still opting for the steel SD MM2
