I debated purchasing one of the many heat reduction hoods on the market now. I attended the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab and made sure I looked at all of them that are on the market (yes- there was so many jeeps I did end up seeing every one I wanted too - plus a few more). After seeing all of them in person, I felt the Poison Spyder was by far the best (and most economical) option. I just could not see spending the premium for a full hood when these look so cool. I figured if I trashed my hood during the install, I would replace it but the install was fairly easy.

I left it on. I know the risks and had a fire extinguisher handy just in case. I put plastic down when I painted the edges. No issues. I'm tall enough that it was not an issue with reach either. Just took my time and it all worked out fine.

Looks very cool. I've been "threatening" to buy one of these for about a year. I have to pull the trigger one day, they look killer.
