Default Portal conversion for the JK

Does anyone know if a portal axle conversion is available for the JK?? I dont want to do an axle swap for Unimog axles. I swear i saw something on Extreme 4x4 the other week about portal axle conversion kits for the JK.

Try a search for portal, about half way down the page.

If you're both talking about portal-tek axles, then I've got a bit of info on them. PM me if you're interested.

These are full axle swaps, though.

I just got off the phone with a guy from axle tech and he said for '09 they were putting out bolt on portal boxes for D60, D70, 14 bolt, and other heavy duty axles. He also said that smaller applications should be seen at SEMA later this year. Smaller apps. including D44 and D35 for wranglers and rubicons.

I would love a set of mog or volvo axles for one of my jeeps. I just don't have that kind of cash laying around :/ The problem with the portal outers for existing axles is the width. Full width SRW axles are generally around 67" WMS, add another few inches for the boxes, and you are going to end up WAY wider than stock.

Check on the price of those things complete and then see if you like them. They are nice but extremely expensive.
