Default Porting The Intake Manifold

i am replacing my intake manifold gaskets and I was thinking about porting the intake manifold while I am at it. I know how to do this it's no problem

has anyone done this to their 3.8L I am wondering if it will mess up anything? or make somewhat of a performance gain?

If you do this, I am very curious what kind of HP increase you get. I could not imagine there would be any issue with it. Somewhat similar effect to a cold air kit. Better flow.

yea after all I am just removing the lip and imperfections from the casting, not a huge change but should provide smoother air flow

The engineers who designed the manifold did not plan on those ridges and imperfections. All you are doing is what the bean counters wouldn't allow during manufacture. Go for it!

Look up HESCO, they have a stroker kit for the JK engine and give you the option of having standard size or ported.
