Default Positive lead for winch is short

I installed a Q9500i on my 2013 JKU Sahara this weekend the postive lead won't reach the battery. I have ran it several ways and it still comes up 4-8" short. It would probably work if I ran it through the grill, not under it, and haphazardly across the engine compartment, but I would rather not risk damage to the cable or the consequense of a large amp short. I have sent a PM to Quadratec and was wondering if any others are having the same problem or found solutions.

I didn't want to make my own positive lead until I hear back from Quadratec regarding warranty issues if I do.

Thanks-

Where do I go about getting the inline fuse set-up? Is this a packaged assembly or something I have to create?

I'm very new to winches and this one has an integrated solenoid- do I just remove the top cover and remove the positive cable? Still haven't heard from quadratec if that voids my warranty or not.

Thanks

Good luck on finding a 400 amp fuse. If you find one it will cost over $100.

I would see what quadratec have to say.

If you dont hear from Quadratec check a custom car stereo shop. With all the high output amps and stuff they install they should have a good power cable set up for you.

The Chinese guy with the measuring tape F*cked up again? Someone needs to fire him...

Call QT get them to send you another one.

Buying 0 gauge copper wire is like buying gold by the gram its costly and you should not have to pay because they messed up.

I ran mine over the crossbar under the radiator under air-box and up to the terminals. There should be enough wire to do that. Also try to zip-tie them a clean looking engine bay is a respected one.

I would go this route, It's a good idea anyway. This way your winch has no power until you flip the switch inside the jeep. POWER INTERRUPT KIT; P/I KIT, RET
