Is This possible?
I want to get the Goodyear MTR/Kevlar 35x12.5R17 tires before the end of this month as the $50 rebate from Goodyear expires Oct. 31st. However, If i get the tires (~$1600 for 5 of them mounted, balanced, etc) I don't have enough left to get the lift.
Can I fit 35" tires on my stock Rubicon unlimited for a few months until I can save up for the lift? Obviously I wouldn't be able to go wheeling in it but the wheeling season for Denver is about over for this year and I have my TJ if I want to wheel.
If anyone has a set of 35's and wants to upgrade to 37's shoot me a PM and maybe we can work something out..
If this won't work how stupid will the jeep look if I did a TF 2.5" coil lift and spacers and waited/saved for the tires....
Thank you for your help...
P.S. This sucks, I got a bonus from work $1K but that with my $700 isn't enough for both tires and lift...
Dave at Northridge is going to give me an awesome deal on the lift/spacers (I already bought the superchips programmer from him few weeks ago). I recommend him to anyone who is looking for something, he is a great guy and willing to work you a great deal! You got my business man!

Stock rubicon will rub pretty excessively. I have a $140 coil spacer lift and $60 spacer lift and clear my 35s. I wouldnt rush out to buy tires for a whopping $50 rebate. It may end at the end of October, but i wouldnt be suprised to get another one. Join play nice off road for $25 and they'll give you a code to a $100 goodyear rebate. Good until like next year.
Get the lift first imo..$50 isn't worth rushing

You can always find sales on tires/wheels.
I would save the $$$ that you have and get a good lift first, then keep an eye out for a tire sale, you don't have to buy all 5 at once either... you can drive on 4!!!!! that alone will save you 200-300 bucks......

Here is a link to some pics of my jeep with a 3.5 inch lift with stock tires. It needs bigger tires but I don't think it looks bad right now.

I ran 35x1250 on 15x10 rims with 3.75 backspacing for ONE DAY and hated it....
I couldn't turn that well. rubbed my front bumper and was very close to rubbing the rubi rock rails in the back....not worth it and dont do it!!

I'm in the same boat. My lift and add ons (procal, gussets, skids) is gonna run me over 2K. I also need steel wheels and rubber. I'm looking at the same tires. Now I just finally got paid for some OT i did and have 2K in the bank. I unfortunately missed the recent buy 3 get one free tire event and have decided to order my lift and save for the tires. I plan on stock piling everything in my garage until I have it all (hopefully by mid November) and then getting it installed. So my advice is since there really isn't any tire sales worth writing home about right now, take your bucks and buy a lift. Then when there is a buy three get one free sale, beg, steal and borrow (unless you've saved) to get the tires.

Just put my lift on Sunday a TF 2.5 coiil with stock tires and it looks fine. I actaully had the GY MT/R w/ Kevlar show up today at 4 wheel parts and was disappointedin in 305/70/17 they only come in raised white letter and these tires can not be trurned inside out. If you want black side wall in that tire have to go to a 40", So i told them to keep those and am waiting for my new Nitto Trail Grapplers to come in tomorrow or Friday.
