Default Possible mod to stock front bumper?

Has anyone thought about modifying their stock front bumper? I was thinking it might be possible to cut the plastic part of the bumper off on each end (where the metal stops) and then add plastic caps to the ends. I know of a local shop that does plastic work. I was thinking they might be able to do a custom mold to make end caps. This would make the bumper a little longer than a stubby, but shorter than stock. What do you guys think?

Hell, why stop there. The metal sub-frame is paper thin and if I didn't already have a new bumper, i would have cut everything up to the side of the frame rails giving it a mean stubby look and function.

If your plastic guy comes up with a solution, please let me know. I'd be interested in good looking end caps.

Keep me updated too. On rubicon owners forum, a guy from central or south america actually fabbed a way to mount a winch in a stock TJ front bumper. I was actually looking at this and maybe some sort of winch guard too. Have to see how much this would actually cost.

I took the plastic off and am running the metal inner as my bumper. It looks lots better and gives a better approach angle. It is only temporary until I can build a new one,

It was a good job, but the stock bumper is hideous looking.
