I ordered one a couple of days ago. Will report next week when it gets here. Hopefully, somebody already has one to give some comments.

I bought one then decided it wouldn't carry enough so I went full out and picked up a Rock Hard bumper system. The basket is a really neat light weight plastic. I liked it so much I picked up the interior brackets for it. If you can keep the load to 50 lbs or so and don't want a swing away it would probably do you good. It bolts into the existing holes for the spare bracket then that spare bracket goes back over the top of it. I'd maybe get concerned if I were riding 35's or bigger due to the weight of everything on the tailgate. I still have the bracket/hardware if someone's interested in it.

Default Good for lightweight stuff

I had one on my TJ. It was great for things like clothes, tents, sleeping bags, etc. Very sturdy. Bestop says it's good for 75 lbs, which is fine if your not using it for gas, H20, hi-lifts, etc.

Assuming the mount is the same on the JK, I'd recommend it.

The one for the JK calls for 75 or 50 lbs depending on how it's positioned.

Does anyone have more pics of the rack on their jeep? Does it seem steady? Would you put a 40+ lb jerry can up there? Even if it holds 75 lbs I would be curious how it stresses when bouncing around.
