Default Powder Coating Service looking to blackout key entry

Looking to powder coat the key entries on the jeep. Has anyone done this before? These are about the last thing on the outside of the car that isnt grey or black.

What people on here have done is carefully tape around the keyhole and then spray paint them. Realistically you are never going to use them with your key so they won't get scratched and if they do you can always paint them again.

This is on my to do list if I ever get the courage...

You can do it... just get some painters tape and put newspaper around the outside of the tape too. Just take your time and do it when there is no wind...

Default black keyhole surrounds

the dealer should carry replacement lockcylinder covers and keyhole gates in black. Anytime the lock cylinder must be recoded or replaced it is coded locally and the cylinder cover and keyhole gate is replaced and they are available in black. You replace them by taking sidecutters(dykes or wirecutters) and cutting/rolling off the original cylinder cover. The new covers, available in black or silver are installed by holding the cylinder in your left hand with the keyhole gate in place, place the new cylinder cover over the end of the cylinder and bending the tabs on the rear edge of the new cover around the flange on the lock cylinder. It's very simple, the most difficult thing is removing the inner panel of the door to get the lock cylinder out of the door. I'm not bothered by the chrome lock cylinders, that's why I haven't replaced my own. I've done many lock cylinders in my job over the years, this poop is correct...
