Regearing is the route to gaining back what you lost from larger tires.

Ripped is a fantastic idea. For those like me that don't have those funds yet a superchips is a must. A cold air intake and exhaust will also add a little.

1. Gears
2. Supercharger - In my case I chose Ripp.
3. Long tube headers - Ripp again.

This is what I did and she turns 35" tires easy.

Its expensive but you are correct. I installed a CAI and Exhaust both from banks, dynod my jeep and got about 25-25 hp and torgue gain over stock. It is noticable. I will regear to probably 4:56. I have a 2012 Rubicon manual on 35's and in order for me to regain the stock 4:10 feel, 4:56 is the way to go.

Looking forward to the day a programmer is available for the 2012.

CAI = waste of money, waste of time and in my case a hydro locked engine. :(. It adds nothing. There is no "cold air" under ur hood. Exhaust adds a little and makes it sound good.

I thought the same thing you did until I Dynod my jeep. I have the charts to prove it.

Stock 2012 puts out 187 to the rear wheel. Mine is putting out 205HP. When I ran it in 3rd gear I got consistant at 224 HP.

The jury is still out as to whether its worth the money. In fairness of full disclosure I had the Banks CAI and Exhaust on when I did the dyno run. That gain isnt just CAI. My guess is that CAI alone would probably show 3-5 HP gains.

HP is not cheap Torque is even more expensive. For $600 I got 17 HP gain assuming you discad the 224 HP run I had in 3rd gear. Thats $35 per horsey.
