Possibly trading my power full doors for half doors. Is there a way to make the person getting power doors to be able to wire his jeep to have power windows and locks and mirrors? Dealership parts employee told me that it cannot be done. If not, could the power doors be converted to manual? I'm pretty sure i saw a thread on a different forum about someone making their half doors power locks and mirrors. Help please!

Default For him

It should not be a problem for the other guy because the door has a plug that you unplug when you take the door off so all the ither guy has to do is plug it into his

The power door switch is on the dash. If his did not come equipped with power doors, it wont have the switches. He'll need to buy the switch panel and run the wires to the door plug. The current door plug should only have 2 wires going into it to turn the dome light on and off.

You will also need to switch door locks, or each make non-chip keys just to open the doors. Also there will be no power lock functionality on his end.

It can be done, but it will be a pain in the ass

Thank you all. Yeah, we talked about the locks. Gonna have to figure that out. I didn't want to take out all my wiring for power in case I go back to full doors in the future I can always have my power back. Sounds like this can be done though, which is good. Thanks again. Dealership, for liability reasons I'm assuming, wasn't wanting to tell me how to do anything to convert it.

Fayetteville? I haven't seen your jeep around? I'm envious you've found a trade for half doors!

Well welcome back.

There's several local groups on FB. Occasional trips to Uwharrie or the beach.

I was just thinking, can I use the power parts from full doors to convert half doors to power? I'm assuming to make the full doors manual for him he needs to take that stuff out anyway
