Default Power Mirror Inquiry for Pre '11 JK's

Hey Gang, I'm a new JK owner and was curious about power mirrors for the '07 - '10 JK's. I noticed when checking out the new '11 JK on Jeep.com that they are offering heated power mirrors for the redesigned model. I'm curious if anyone out here has attempted to modify their existing mirrors with some new heated, power ones. I haven't looked TOO closely, but from the images of the '11 JK's on Jeep.com, the mirrors appear to similar in shape, size, and installed location on the doors.

Are there any modders out there who have looked into upgrading to the heated and powered ones?

I'd love to perform this mod, just curious if anyone has yet tackled this project.

Thanks for the input in advance!

I have a 2011 with the heated and electric mirrors, and I have not seen any difference in size or design from my 2009 standard mirrors. Everything seems to be the very same.

X2..would like to know what's available! While I love the 2011 interior, I can live without it for a long time if I can add power and heated mirrors to my 2010.

This would have been a nice option for the previous years. If it's an exact fit I may retro some in..

I'm with you, uafan. I'm definitely interested in looking into this more, but it'll definitely require some research on the wiring of the heater switch and the mirror controls.

I could care less about the power mirror part, but I'd love to have the heated mirror function.

Bump...

Has anyone with a pre-2011 checked out the mirrors on an '11 yet to see how they are connected?

I am looking to get a backup set of OEM mirrors so i can permanently mount one set on my Dietech brakets so I don't have to keep taking my one set off my doors each time I go doorless. Would be nice if I could just order a set of '11's and use them as my daily driver ones.

fandango...I do not think you will need to drill the 2011 mirrors...I know my 2010 didn't need it as Jeep had added a notch in the rubber backing to allow drainage. I imagine they probably carried that enhancement over to the 2011's.
