Default Power steering leak...

Recently notice a small stain under my jeep, and upon getting down to see where it was coming from I could see it was on the track bar, and was coming from the power steering box where the pitman arm is. I hit a stump a while back on the passenger side im wondering if this could of caused a possible bend on the bottom of the power steering box.

Box leaks are not all that uncommon. The stress from large tires will do it. Hence the popularity of sector shaft braces and the rapidly growing trend of hydro assist.

You may be able to have the box rebuilt. Otherwise, a new box is around $700 and one from a salvage yard is around $400. I'd suggest you find a solution to prevent another failure before replacing it though.

Thanks a lot, I've recently upgrading my steering components and I was going to order a brace but needed to get this leak figured out first. I'll have to look into finding a replacement

What year is your jk? The Delphi boxes in earlier years can be rebuilt. (these will be rusty looking. Newer boxes are painted black). If you have a rusty rebuildable box and aren't comfortable doing it yourself, you could contact West Texas Offroad (the Redneck Ram folks). They can rebuild it, and will port it at the same time in case you want to go hydro in the future.
