Power Window Upgrade
wayoflife
Hey we all drive Jeeps here and all parts and upgrades are expensive. When we want an upgrade doesn't it make it so much fun to have to save the money for a few months...
...well now that I think about it...no, it doesn't. I want my upgrades NOW...I think we all do...lol

As far as the question goes and I know we don't wanna see this happen but I'm sure we will see a wrecked Wrangler something...I'd rob the doors off one and wire them up as far as the door...it would be fully loaded and probably ALOT cheaper than to wait and buy an upgrade to your doors and you could probably find doors faster but if there still any good now thats different. May not be any help but thats what I would do the only bad thing is that most wrecked Jeeps are rollovers and that means no good doors. These are not so bad as to leaning on curves though.
as of right now the only way to add power windows is to buy an aftermarket kit for the switches and wiring, and buy the factory regulators and motors.
Adding power door locks and windows will cost you about as much as the $500 option price tag plus about 2 days or more of manual labor and redneck engineering
Either buy a door with power options installed and run wires into the jeep, or trade it in for one that already has the power convienience group

The wiring is not in place. It is a different body harness all together. I have a set of 4 of the complete regulator assemblies from one. They are a complete panel that bolts in with the lock actuators and wires. I don't have any of the other wiring though.

I put the cable driven universal type on mine, on the frt doors only. $65 on EBay.
It's a bitch to do, and you'll have to do a bit of cutting on the door inner liner.
I didn't need/want them on the back doors anyhow, but not sure there would be room back there anyhow.
They're working great so far, hopefully they'll last till some used JK parts start showing up.
here's the kit I used: http://cgi.ebay.com/POWER-WINDOW-KIT-motors-3-switches-Universal-car-2-DOOR_W0QQitemZ220163939457QQihZ012QQcategoryZ60203 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
