Default Press in bushings..

Looking at replacement bushings..

This bushing says it is press in. Do I need a press to get it in or is there another way.

I know on some bushings you can just use a torch and hacksaw to get the old one out and then use a dead blow hammer to get the new one in..

You can install a press fit bushing using a bolt and nut and a bunch of washers. Get a bolt that is long enough to go through the housing and the bushing, that is if the housing is 2 inches and the bushing is 2 inches, get a bolt that is about 5 inches long. Put a washer that is bigger than the housing bore on the bolt and then put the bolt through the housing, add the bushing to the bolt on the other side of the housing and put a washer on after the bushing. Thread the nut on the bolt until everything is snug and lined up, then just tighten the nut to press the bushing into the housing bore. If you run out of threads, take off the nut and add a bunch of washers. We install bushings like this at work routinely when you can't take the part to a press. Hope this helps you.

That sounds like it would work well. And for removal just use a torch and hacksaw?
