Pro Comp tires?
Im thinking of ordering a set of 33 12.5 with series 97 15x8 with 3.75 BS
My question is i havent seen much talk about the Pro Comp extreme mud ter. and was wondering if anyone was running them and how they were working out?

I have around 30,000 on my tires and still plenty of tread, they are very nice

35 x 12.5's not only do they look awesome but the wheel great. Most reviews out of 4 stars gave them 3 in ever category. I was debating on KM2's as well. But when looking at the price the pro comps are jsut plain out awesome. And i had km's and they are great tires but the pro comps come siped and are on average 60 bucks less a piece.

I had the Extreme Mud Terrains but swapped them out for KM2s after only 7,000 miles. The reason, the rubber on the sidewall was blistering, popping and then peeling revealing the structural carcass underneath. I figured it was just a matter of time before the structural integrity of the tire was affected so I decided to eliminate the problem before it even happened. This was not an isolated incident on one tire because all four tires showed the same symptoms. The only tire that did not exhibit this problem was the spare which had never been driven on.
I have been wheeling for 9 years and I have never seen tire sidewalls behave in this manner. I don't care how many times someone tries to tell me that it's just cosmetic or a result of rock rash the blistering behavior of the rubber should not happen. I've driven BFGs and Goodyears over the last 9 years and have worked them harder then these Pro Comps have been worked and I have never seen the rubber peel away from those sidewalls.
Add to the above situation the numerous online complaints about Pro Comp tires, the poor BBB ratings and Cooper tire recalls and I would really do my research before jumping on the Pro Comp tire wagon. I'm not trying to hate on Pro Comp tires I just wanted to share my story with you so you could research for yourself before making a decision.
As far as the ride of the tires is concerned I had no complaints with the tire off road, they provided adequate traction and held their lines. The on road performance was typical of a mud terrain tire, harsh and loud. To be honest with you, I was very uncomfortable driving on these tires after the sidewall rubber started to peel away from the carcass. I was starting to constantly think, "Is today the day my tires blow out and kill me?".

Here is what I generally do for pretty good tire prices.
Costco has some terrific prices on their tires. The problem with Costco is that they won't mount tires on a vehicle that are not sized to OEM specs, at least the Costco near me won't.
Basically what I did was get a printed quote from Costco and take it to Discount tire. Discount matched the Costco price which was about $50 per tire less. Maybe this might be an option for you.
