To the OP's comment. The Hypertech and the AEV Procal unit are NOT the same tool. So therefore should not be compared. All though they have overlapping qualitities they are for two DISTINCT markets and purpose.

If you bought the Max Energy just to set your gear and tire ratio... then you did not use it for its main use. It's like using the big a$$ Craftsman screwdriver as a crowbar, and then crying when it breaks like a screwdriver. Good tool used for the wrong purpose.

For the books. I owned both. Only sold the Hypertech because I could no longer enjoy the power programming since I installed the Ripp supercharger. So the Procal does ONLY what I need now, which is set my gear/ tires.
I agree. I have the Procal coming in mail since it does what I need now. They are not the same. Procal will only change some parameters, is not a fuel re programmer...great value for what it does do IMO. On the auto trans resetting the speedo to new tire size will adjust the shift points back to stock, it will not allow you to freely adjust the shift points.
