I dont think you'll have a problem with the 15x8's. Some say you can go lower pressure safer with the 8 but I run down to 10psi easily and have no problems. I'd love to see the pics though..Here is fine.

BTW - For the newbies -
The 10" rim and the 8" rim, etc...will NOT change how much the TIRE sticks out...that's the Backspacing...the LESS BS, the MORE it sticks out.
The width of the rim does control how far apart the beads holding the tire to the rim are...but, the beads move in and out with rim width, the middle of the tire stays at the same point.
The ADVANTAGES of a wider stance are more stability, especially off camber, protection of the body, etc, in tight clearance situations, and if achieved with a wider tread, better flotation, traction, braking, lateral acceleration, etc.
The DISADVANTAGES of the tire sticking out are more mud thrown up, more water spray in the rain hitting the windshield of whomever's behind you, and, in states where its ILLEGAL to have tires protrude out past the fenders, a ticket, failed inspection, confiscation of rig, etc...depending upon how much lip you give the officer, etc.
So - in states where they do not care...wider is better, otherwise...its a crapshoot. and you take your chances, and/or...get extended fender flares, etc...to cover them.
If its a trailer queen, well, you can REMOVE the fenders if you want, etc.

TEEJ, I think you are a little off. If you stay within the same wheel width, then yes the less the BS, the more it sticks out. However, it doesn't hold true when going from an 8" wide wheel to a 10" wide wheel. If they have the same backspace, the 10" sticks out 1" more. The 10" would need to have 1" of additional BS to stick out as far as the 8" wheel.
