Which programmers are capable of flashing a JK (or any) ABS Module? /ABS Module Repai
Hey all, Couple of questions related to my post title. (2009 Wrangler Sahara JKU here in Denver, CO)
Unit was fried by crossed wires when a shock broke out of it's top mount and punched through the ABS harness. Harness rewired. I've pulled the module and searched for all part numbers listed on it. Crosschecking numbers etc,it oddly seems that this module was used on multiple vehicles across multiple brands. Same shape, same size, same ports, same plug.
Ideas are:
1. Open the current module and attempt a repair
2. Send the module in for a repair
3. Swap it with another module from one of these other vehicles (unlikely to find a Jeep in a salvage yard here)
4. Purchase a new one.
I would assume that regardless of the option I select, the unit will need to be flashed to match my VIN (due to being friend and rerepaired, or just a different used/new unit) I know the dealership can do this, but I think it's time I invest in a programmer for other diagnostics, flashing and what not.
My questions are thus:
1. Are options 1-3 at all feasible?
2. What is the minimum programmer/scanner for flashing the ABS Module? (I'd rather not spend $4000-6000 for a programmer if a $500-1000 one will do. I'm sure the rest of the features would suffice)

Enjoy this video, the author indicates he is returning to dealer to re-program the module. a Jscan (app for phones & the Bluetooth donegal) is less than $100. Check this site: Jeep Wrangler JK & JKU ? JScan The Jscan can do many functions including clearing codes.
To reset modules I believe you need WiTech software and the hardware to connect. That is what dealers use. StarScan is the earlier version of software but not sure of the year cutoff for the change. I believe WiTech works on all models but not 100% on that. Software is $1500 to $1800.
