Default Project: Full Metal Jacket

I'd like to start out by saying I've worked on vehicles for the majority of my life. Getting into the Jeep family has been a new and eye opening experience thus far. Every one is respectful, knowledgeable and excited to share their newest additions and personal experiences. I purchased my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport back in February 2014. As I've dove head first into what the aftermarket has to offer for these things, I have a definite vision and path I want to take. I hope I can be informative along the way with my project as I move forward... Enjoy!

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to the Jeep community. I do have to say myself that the Jeep community is comprised of the best people around. Everyone is always willing to help with anything and that is huge in my opinion.

Would you care to describe the vision of your build? I'm sure we will all love to hear it.

If you have any questions or concerns along the way feel free to contact us. Looking forward to seeing the progress on this.

I have always considered myself somewhat of a survivalist. Building a rig that is not only capable but could be self sufficient on camping trips is my goal. I always like the military look some people are doing. Might go with that path and see how's things evolve.

The first step I wanted to take with my Jeep build was too change out all fluids with AMSOIL brand petroleum products. I use these products at my work and they defiantly perform as advertised. We do various oil analysis testing and data collection to back up this claim. With that being said, I have opted to change my engine oil, front and rear differential oil, transfer-case oil and automatic transmission oil, all with AMSOIL products. I have listed, with links below of what I'm using. After my 15k oil change, I plan on sending a sample out for analysis. This will give me more information to share about how my engine is running, wearing and the life of the oil. Stay tuned...

2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport AMSOIL product application chart:
AMSOIL Online Product Application Guide

Engine oil:
AMSOIL SAE 5W-30 XL Extended Life Synthetic Motor Oil

Automatic transmission/Transfer-case:
AMSOIL Signature Series Multi-Vehicle Synthetic Automatic Transmission Fluid

Front and rear differentials:
AMSOIL Severe GearŽ 75W-110

Welcome! I've been an AMSOIL dealer for years and have never been disappointed. Just remember what JEEP stands for... Just Empty Every Pocket. Lol
