Default Pros / Cons of different rim widths - help!

All,

Putting Mud Grappler 35x12.5x17s on my Rubicon.

With this width tire (12.5), what are the pros & cons of 8", 9" or 10" rims (price aside)?

I just put them on 8" rims, and even in lowering the pressure to 28psi, it seems they are gonna wear mainly in the middle 8-9 inches?

Should I be putting the tires on 9" or even 10" rims? What will I gain vs. give up?

Mainly using the Jeep for weekend off-roading (vs. to & from work).

tnx

I am interested as well, however, I use it mostly for regular driving.

I guess with a 8" wide rim it pulls the tread up and away from contact of the road so therefore a 10" wide rim will wear better on the road but i think an 8" rim is better offroad when you need to air doen it will hold the bead better. Not too sure though so anyone feel free to correct me because i am kind of wondering too whether i should go with 8" or 10" wide wheels.
