And i dont mind cutting on my jeep either so hacking off the frame rails will be no problem it will give me and some buddies an excuse to get together and drink some What rockers of PSC would go well with the BFH series of bumpers?
GOOD PICK. You really couldn't go wring either way but I love the BFH line. Less is More. My 2 Door you see is on 37's and the wheels are similar to your Crager 8s. I have Brawler Rockers on the 4 Door and Rocker Knockers on the 2 Door. I like the Brawlers more and depending on how you wheel, the Aluminums are a cool option. BTW, give them a call. LIttle Birdie tells me their is a upcoming special on Aluminum Brawler Rockers!

I like your setup merlin4979. Can you pretty much mount any winch on the front BFH. And when installing your rear BFH was a sawzaw and a welder the only two major tools you used? Is it better to cut out the rear crossmember and replace it with some square 2x3 tubing?

Thanks. I'm pretty sure that any winch can be mounted on the front BFH, since it sits on the plate, not inside like some larger bumpers have. It has the standard bolt hole pattern. Dusty can chime in on this one if they know of any that don't/won't fit.

And for the rear - yes, we pretty much just used a sawzall, angle grinder (for cleanup), and a welder. I thought that cutting out the rear crossmember completely and putting in the 2x3 piece of tubing made for a stronger connection overall, as opposed to just leaving part of the stock member in place. That's what I've also been seeing/hearing from others who are doing the rear setup.

And once you've started cutting, its actually easier to cut the member out entirely (unless you have a plasma cutter), rather than trying to make a cut across the entire length of the stock piece as well.

As far as the BFH/EVO combination…We cut the entire factory cross member out and replaced it with a piece of 2x3 tubing. You could probably get away with just trimming the rear face (bumper side) of the cross member off, but removing the whole thing was a lot less work. If I remember correctly we had to angle the 2x3 to get everything to work. Be sure to remove the coil over’s before you remove the cross member. Give Shad a call here at the shop if you have any questions, and let’s get that BFH installed. You’ll be surprised how much departure angle you gain. It’s actually better than running no bumper at all with uncut frame horns. It’s often the difference between making a climb or not.
Thanks,
Thanks for the info on the BFH/EVO lever modification. I was always a huge fan of both your rig's and EVO1's builds for KOH and it is what I steered my JK's direction in. I will not make this years KOH as a participant or by stander, but looking at competing in 2013. I will definitely talk with Mel W. when I drive into Fullerton for some more work, I am not yet willing to part with my PSC BFH, it is too nice a piece of kit Thanks again for the help.

Brawler front and rear here! Great looking/working bumpers!!! Though I do have to say I love the looks of the BFH's! (I just wasn't ready to cut my Jeep so, Brawlers for me!) Can't go wrong w/PSC!
