Cheaper perhaps, but not easier. It's a real easy install.

I just spent some time under my 12 and it looks to me that the PSC skid DOES NOT fit. There are 4 tubes off the back of the evap can and the brace for the PSC skid is right in the way of the big one.

Now I need to see if I can return this thing or sell it locally. (the skid not my Jeep)

I thought the '12 had a factory skid on the evap can?

I wouldnt call it a "skid", its more of a plate. Its about as thick as a soup can...

Well PSC assures me they installed the skid on a 12 with no issues. So apparently I need to just go for it.

My original statement that it would not fit was based on just looking at it all. I did not want to remove the hoses and risk breaking the clips if I wasnt sure it would work.

I dont want to spread false info so I will give it a go and report back...

And the saga continues... I removed the factory skid (I cut it so I didnt have to unplug the hoses, aint I smart?) and when installing the PSC I found the tab that the strap bolts to, which holds the canister in place, hits the muffler (I think its a muffler, not the one in the back, the smaller one under the drivers seat)!!! DOH!

So I called PSC and talked to their manager, and it was a 4 door they installed one on! All their techs had gone home so best they can do is call me tomorrow.

So I reinstalled the factory plate and had to pop rivet it back together since I cut it (aint I stupid???). Then I took a pic of the factory skid / muffler and emailed it to PSC and I await further information....

Lessons learned:
ALWAYS specify 2/4 door when you ask "does it fit".
ALWAYS believe what you see over what someone else tells you without seeing it.
Make sure you have plenty of pop rivets on hand.
Dont start a project that will prevent you from driving your only vehicle at 7PM!

I in no way blame PSC. They have been helpful in email and on the phone. Hopefully there is a solution to this. Otherwise look for a PSC skid with a couple of minor scratches in the classifieds.

After two attempts, calling and emailing PSC, the current Evap Skid will NOT fit the 2 door. I even looked at re-drilling the mounting holes and its too wide. The tab for the hold down strap will hit the "muffler looking" thing (see pic) and the front corner is about 3/8" from the front U joint.

PSC said it does fit the 4 door.

So if you need a bargain on a PSC Evap Skid check out the for sale section.

.
I still say relocate and not have to worry about a skid. Even protected, it still is in a stupid spot and will get hung up on rocks.
