I use the 1.5x6 ram and it works great. The ram limits the steering about 1/8" before the steering stop hits the knuckle. That's pretty much what I wanted so my ram acts as the stop and I'm not putting pressure on my balljoints. Btw my tie rod stroke measures only 5 5/8" of throw

Anybody have any tips about tapping the stock box and keeping metal shavings from falling in? I'm about to tap mine soon.

Tap upside down so chips fall out. Don't drill the pilot hole all the way through (so when you drill the large hole chips won't be getting pushed in). Have a buddy plug one port and blow a little air in the other as you break through. Put grease on the tap and go a little at a time, clean grease, add fresh grease and go again. The chips will stick to the grease. Probably easier to buy a second tap and cut a half inch off. That way you can get far enough into the taper.
