Default PSC steering box issues

I have just recently installed a complete PSC hydro assist in my 2012 jeep jku. The problem I am having is that there is some slight play at the input shaft of the steering box causing about an inch of play in the steering wheel. When the input shaft turns a little bit at first there is no movement from the sector shaft. I spoke with a tech at PSC and was told that this is normal because the gears inside the box do not contact each other and ride on a pillow of fluid. He also said that my previous gear box did the same. But actually there was no play in my previous system. Is there some kind of adjustment I can do to get rid of this or another course of action with PSC that I should take to have this corrected?

I don't know the answer to your question but for a $1200 steering box to have play that the cheap Chinese original doesn't have is a real disappointment for me to hear.

I'm really curious to see how PSC handles this. I've been shopping their kits this week and emailed them a few times, the answers I got have left me quite underwhelmed. They recommended a $2k kit that doesn't fit my jeep and didn't even take the time to answer the few questions I had. My experience with their customer service stopped me from placing an order this week while I look at other options. Having no experience with hydro assist I'm depending on whatever company I go with to give good after sales service so I can get everything dialed in right.

I hope they get you sorted...
