one of the reasons I ended up with a JK was that the TJs were overpriced... as in.. they hold their value too well.

I had a 04 Rubicon loaded, and they were almost 10 years old and still 18-20k!

for 30K I got a 2012 JK Rubicon, loaded.

I'm not paying 20k for a 10 year old anything.

I drove the JK and was in love with the smoother ride, refined inside and LOVE this engine.

I know that's not the budget for everyone, but it sounds like your 3k is a scam.
