I'm looking at both manufacturers in satin black. My question is : does anyone have long term experience with how these are holding up to corrosion, etc. over time? Especially those who live up North and deal with the salt/chemicals used on the roads in winter. I don't really want to buy a wheel that will require refinishing or touch up in a few years.

Can't answer your question on "how these are holding up to corrosion, etc".

But the Rugged Ridge wheels are Hub Centric like factory (made just for JK'S). ProComp wheels are not.

If you find the finish is about the same, I would go with Rugged Ridge.

 

I have ProComp 7069's and the only touch up they've required is from rock rash.

 

I researched and wanted hub centric do went rugged ridge. No issues at all. Love them.

 

Sounds like no real corrosion concerns for either brand so far. And none of the rivet/bolts around the rim are rusting?? Are they alumiminum too? (Guess that would answer my question about them rusting! ) Can they be removed if they aren't aluminum and replaced w/ alum hex button head screws?

I am in Chicago and got a set of ProComp 8179 wheels put on last January. By April, the unpainted outer edge had serious pitting issues where the fake bead lock bolts are. I kept the salt washed off as best I could, but it didn't make any difference. Beware if you decide to go with aluminum wheels that have any unpainted surface as the clear coat is not enough to protect them.

They are aluminum, they aren't ever going to look horrible unless they're bare

 

A lot of wheel companies make the hubs larger so that it can fit multiple vehicles. Very few companies make wheels that are hub centric for a specific vehicle [most of them are Japanese wheel companies that make very high quality and light wheels for performance cars. But they are also very expensive].
