Default Question??

Can anyone tell me the trick of getting 3/8" synthetic line thru the hole in the hub. It came wrapped on end with electrical tape but wont go thru. Getting frustrated!

Are you trying to attach a synthetic winchline? Mine had a crimped end terminal that simply screwed onto a small hole in the spool.

Yes it is 3/8" viking line going on a superwinch talon. On this model no screw is used. You have to somehow pull it through the hole in hub then duct tape it across hub. That is the directions the give

It is the friction that is keeping the rope from coming of the spool. Like on a Warn they have a small screw that goes thru an eye at the end of the rope. The screw just gets it started and is able to take a fair amount of force to start the winding process. There is no way it would hold up to the shear force of a winching job. So you just need to find a way to get it started and then never put out the winch line so fare that it starts take the last layer of line (that is what holds it to the spool).
