Default Question for 3.8L guys with forced induction and automatic trans

Just wondering how you guys find the shifting with your supercharger/turbocharger and automatic trans? I have decided to go ahead with putting together a turbo for my 2008 JKU but have been getting some not so encouraging feedback from the custom tuners regarding the shifting because Diablosport doesn't allow for much modification on the Chrysler products apparently. Looking for feedback good and bad please. Thanks!!

ive had ripp superchargers for years with automatics with a few different jks. ..... when i first started i felt like i wanted to shift earlier... but now within the last couple years i feel like it is just right.. they are always improving the tune.. ive had no issues for the last couple years and the shifting with the automatic feels good..

Thanks for the feedback! Anybody else care to chime in?

Good question. I have the flashpaq right now with the trans tuning option and I have it setup to shift more like I would shift a standard trans. I hated and I mean HATED the stock shift points. Nothing worse that being in OD by the time you hit 30mph and having to put down about 70% throttle to get a downshift. However I have a prodigy turbo kit waiting for me to install it right now and I have already been wondering if after I set the tuning back to stock from the flashpaq and I lose the trans tuning that I have done if I will be able to just go in and adjust the trans once again with the flashpaq after I have applied the new engine tune with the diablo sport that came with the prodigy kit.

Is it possible with your Flashpaq to program the O/D to be default off?

I keep mine off unless it's on the highway.

I have been in touch with Superchips about this already and there is no way to tune only the transmission with their software and still use the Diablosport engine tuning. This is the reason I started this thread because I too have been very happy my custom modified Superchips trans tuning and will really hate to lose it. The base Diablosport trans tuning does hold the 1-2 and 2-3 shift close to where I had the Superchips but the 3-4 and down shifting sucks balls in comparison.

Shit......... I was afraid of this. I wonder why this is.......... you dont need to apply engine tuning to just tune the trans do you? Has anyone actually tried to do this or is it just some guy you got on the phone over at super chips making an assumption?

I am going to hate to lose the trans tuning ability. It really makes the driving experience about 100% better.

Apparently as soon as you do any tuning with the Superchips it automatically re-writes the ECM even on the "stock" power level. I really hate the idea of losing my ability to tweak the trans shifting but it looks like I'll have to suck it up too.

Let me know how yours shifts once you get the turbo installed and they tweak things a bit.

Does it already have a tune that is pre-written into the programmer that it writes or does it remove whatever tune that is currently installed as the "stock" tune?

You have to select a power level and then once you are in that level you can use the advanced trans software.

This is the email I received back from Superchips Tech Support:

"Unfortunately, with the way the vehicles communicate, the only way to change the trans options are to add a power level as well.
