Default Question

Ok as you all know i am loking to upgrade the stock wheels on my c package unlimted. It currently has 16" with 225 75 r 16. I maybe getting a set of sahara 255 70 r 18 for a good price. My question is besides the speedometer needing to be adjusted, do I have to change the gears. Also, I know the s package has the same tire size with a 17" rim, will the 18" rim make a difference in regards to clearance.

thanks
Gregg

Depending on the year of the JK that you are getting the 18" wheels from, the jeep either has the 3.73 or 4.10...Do you have any of those gears or does yours come with 3.21? If it's the 3.21, you should install the tires and drive it for a while and see if the power / driveability is up to your standards. If not then you should regear to 4.10s if you are not going to go any bigger than the 32" tires. As far as clearance you shouldnt have any problems...I believe all the models of the JKs are the same height, only difference is in tire size/style options..
