Default Question: 5 x 5.5" lug pattern

I have a question regarding wheel spacers/adapters. I'm new at this, so I hope I haven't asked an ignorant question here...

I found a good local deal on some wheels with a 5 x 5.5" lug pattern. I see several adapters for wheels with the 4.5 x 5 pattern, but not a lot of options for these. So...

#1- Any recommendations as to where I could find the appropriate spacers/adapters? (Only saw the 4.5 set at Quadratec) Maybe I missed them?

#2- Are there pitfalls with such a set-up? Anything I should be wary of?

Thanks a lot for any help on this.

Is it still a "deal" when you have to drop $200 on adapters?

That is what I have been tossing around as well. I have a new set of 15x8 soft 8s that I bought for my Bronco that I sold. I don't have a CJ or older Ford so they are worthless to me. I too was thinking about adapters?

It sucks though because I have 17 inch on my Rubi. I have a set of 33 inch BFG mud terrain that would work on the stock rims for a bigger tire from my 04 F150 but the tires aren't something that I wish to put on my newer Heep.

Default 5x5 to 6x5.5

i went from a 5 lug to a six lug with no probs.
keep in mind your adapters will be thick, so be sure to allow for the extra spacing. This could be good or bad, depending on the offset of the wheels you plan on using.

I actually went with a positive offset wheel, to compensate for the 2inch adapter. I didnt want more than half of the wheel outside of the fender....but thats just personal preference. If you use a negative offset wheel with an adapter, you could end up with the hub outside of the wheel itself. Im not sure if that would be a safety issue, but Im not comfortable with that.

I didnt do it because I had the wheels already, but I saw them and had to have them, and they were discontinued.
Had to get with Ultra directly just to get these.
